The 4kW wind turbine has arrived!  In the coming days,  technical experts from Urban Green Energy and representatives from The Big Wind will assemble and test the VAWT.

Belmar Moves Closer to Implementing Wind Energy

The Monday morning  installation of an anemometer on the roof of the 10th Avenue Pavilion completes the first step of Belmar’s wind mapping project.

Later in the day, The Big Wind’s president Greg Hart and technical vice president Mike Supko Sr. met with representatives of the Belmar Green Team, Mayor Ken Pringle, Town Administrator Robin Kirk and the Borough’s engineers at the 5th Ave Taylor Pavilion to scout and identify the best location for the installation of a 4kW  VAWT.
